About Me

Hello, my name is Riko Febrian. You can call me Riko. I was born on the 4th February 2002, which means I am 18 years old now. I have 2 sisters and a brother. Then I have got my mom and dad too. I'm mostly close with my parents. Maybe every things which happens in a day, I will share it with them. And I also close with my siblings, especially my brother. It means I love my family so much.

I live and study in the Kuantan Singingi district. I finished my elementary school years at SDN 003 Benai Kecil, Junior High School at MTsN Sentajo, and Senior High School at SMA Negeri 1 Benai majoring in Science. 12 years of education, I have never lived apart from my parents. Until I entered college at the University of Riau, in Pekanbaru. Maybe now I'm still at home with my parents, because I can't go to Pekanbaru, It is caused by Corona Virus.  

At the University of Riau I majored in statistics. A major which is avoided by my friends. Maybe because they think it is very difficult, but actually I also feel like it, just a little. But why did I decide to take this major? Yes, because I like math more than other subjects. And I have seen the job prospects of graduates of this major on the internet. I think the graduates of this major will be needed in the future.

Some interests I have got are: singing, listening to music, watching movies, and reading books. I like singing, although my voice is not very good. I think singing can relieve stress, so I often sing along. Other than that, I also like listening to music. I like various music genres such as pop, jazz, and Malay which are typical music genres from Riau. Besides that, I also like KPOP music. Actually, I liked Korean music not long ago, maybe 6 months. I like Blackpink, one of the girl groups from Korea. And also I like reading books. I think books are our means to gain knowledge, and we can increase our capacity with reading books.  

  

Until I was 18 years old I still didn't know what I was looking for in life. And I think this is natural, because at this age teenagers are usually in a period of searching for identity. It is a little difficult, but I must not drag on in this confusion. Actually, I already imagined my adult life. As an adult, I wanted to be a data analyzer, because that fits with my major. Besides that, I also have a desire to become an entrepreneur, because I want to be the boss of my own business. 

 

I want to share a story with you. In August 2018, I became the envoy to the regency of Kuantan Singingi and Riau Province, to attend the “Siswa Mengenal Nusantara” event. It is a student exchange event. And at that time I was sent to Maluku province. I am so grateful that it was like a free travelling for me. All costs are borne by the BUMN, and we also get money. While there, I got to know a lot about Maluku culture. There really upholds the value of tolerance. Here are some of my photos there.

Finally, I want to give a message to those of you who are probably the same age as me and are currently in college. I'm sure you guys feel tired, but remember "if tired then rest. Don't give up. ”
